Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Mississippi University for Women College of Nursing and Speech language Pathology website. The College offers outstanding educational programs designed to meet the diverse lifestyles and demands of today’s student. We have three distinguished nursing programs of study leading to an Associate, Baccalaureate, or Master of Science in Nursing degree. Graduates of all three programs possess the knowledge, skills, leadership ability, and clinical expertise to excel in the profession of nursing. Student advancement through each program provides opportunities for development of lasting friendships and support networks. Marketability of graduates is increased through preceptorship and externship experiences which are part of the curriculum in each undergraduate program.
The College of Nursing was founded in 1971 and has produced over 3,000 graduates who have successfully moved into the nursing workforce in Mississippi and in other parts of the United States and world. Excellent faculty, personalized attention, and a commitment to excellence have contributed to the distinguished reputation of all three nursing programs.
