Will YOU be connected
to Mississippi University for Women in 2012?
Mississippi University for Women has selected the Connect-ED® for Higher ED communication service from Blackboard Connect Inc. to deliver all emergency messages and other time-sensitive notifications to students, faculty and staff employees. The university has replaced its previous text messaging system with the newer, multi-modal Connect-ED service to provide expanded capability to send information and updates to you during unforeseen events or emergencies. The new system is called W Alert. The service enables the University to schedule, send, and track messages via these different forms of communication:
• Personalized voice messages to landline phones and cell phones
• Text messages to cell phones, PDAs, and other text-based devices
• Messages to e-mail accounts
In order for W Alert to succeed, we will need for you to provide your personal cell phone number for emergency notification text messages and/or any phone number for voice messages.
WHO?
All MUW students, faculty, and staff should update their contact information.
WHEN?
As soon as possible.
NOTE: The ability to provide updated contact information will be ongoing through BannerWeb.
HOW?
All it takes is a brief visit online to your Banner Web account where you choose to opt-in and provide the cell number needed in order to reach you with text messages and any phone for voice messages in the event of an emergency affecting MUW students and employees.
