Adjunct Business Instructors  The College of Business and Legal Studies at Mississippi University for Women are currently seeking applicants for part-time face-to-face and on-line business faculty in the disciplines of Accounting, Marketing, Management, Finance, Economics and MIS. The \faculty member will work with and be supported by the Dean and lead faculty members located at the main campus. The primary responsibilities include teaching, assisting students in their learning process by utilizing all appropriate college resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available to complement the teaching and learning process. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching field and preferably a Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in a business discipline or related field and have the qualifications to teach a wide range of business courses. An out of field doctorate with an MBA may be considered. Computer proficiency, professional work experience in appropriate fields and three years teaching experience are required. Culinary Chef Instructor/Assistant Professors  #865 and #894 The Culinary Arts Institute at Mississippi University for Women, located in Columbus, Mississippi, is seeking two Assistant Professor / Chef Instructor positions. These are both full-time, 9-month, tenure track positions. The positions will be available beginning in August 2013, and will remain open until filled. The successful candidate will teach at least 12 credit hours per semester and be responsible for other departmental duties as assigned. Classes will include hands-on food preparation course for majors and discipline-specific courses in any one of the four emphasis areas including entrepreneurship, food art, food journalism, and nutrition and wellness.  Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field and holding an M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in an area of food studies consistent with our emphasis areas listed above. Candidates currently pursuing an M.A., M.S. or Ph.D. are encouraged to apply. Other preferred qualifications include experience as a working chef and demonstrated accomplishments in supervisory management, and teaching experience in a liberal arts environment. Visiting Assistant Professor of Geography (Online)  The Department of History, Political Science, and Geography at the Mississippi University for Women seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Geography for the 2013-2014 school year (classes begin August 20, 2013). While the position is non-tenure track, it is salaried and does include health insurance and other benefits. The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Geography or a related field, though ABD candidates will be considered. Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate excellence in online instruction. The position’s regular teaching responsibilities include a 4-4 load, delivered through the Blackboard 9.1 online portal. Each term will include at least two sections of the introductory geography course that serves the general education curriculum and is required for students receiving secondary social studies teaching certification. Upper-level offerings will be expected as well: courses on the geography of Latin America (on the fall schedule), North America, and the Muslim World (the latter two are options for the spring term). Environmental geography is also on the course list, if a candidate feels strongly about teaching that course in the spring. Opportunities for overloads and summer teaching are available. Adjunct Instructors of History (to cover four courses) The Department of History, Political Science, and Geography at the Mississippi University for Women seeks Adjunct Instructors of History for the Fall 2013 semester (classes begin August 20, 2013). The following four courses need to be filled. Candidates may apply to teach one or two of the courses but no more than two.


1. HIS 101 History of Civilization I (world history up to ca. 1600), MWF 10:00-10:50 am.

2. HIS 101 History of Civilization I (world history up to ca. 1600), MW 2:00-3:15 pm.

3. HIS 109 History of the United States I (colonial era to Reconstruction), MWF 9:00-9:50 am.

4. HIS 361 Civil War and Reconstruction, MW 3:30-4:45 pm.

Successful candidates for the first three courses will possess at least a Master’s degree in History; candidates for HIS 361 should at least be ABD in History. All courses are taught in Painter Hall, where the department is based. HIS 109 and 361 are offered in classrooms equipped with smart technology; the HIS 101 sections are offered in a classroom with a ceiling projector that can work off a laptop computer, which may be supplied by the department. Music Theory Assistant Professor  #45 Mississippi University for Women invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track in Music to begin August 2013.  Duties: position will teach piano, group piano, music theory, ear-training. Position may also serve as an accompanist.  Other duties include student advising, contribution to university service and ongoing continuation of scholarship and creative activities.  Minimum qualifications: Doctorate degree in music is required.  At least one degree must be in piano. Nursing - RN to BSN Coordinator  #564 Mississippi University for Women’s Baccalaureate Nursing Program (BSN) has a vacancy for a full-time, 12 month, RN to BSN Advanced Placement Option coordinator to begin July 1, 2012.  The BSN program is accredited by CCNE and is located in Columbus Mississippi with an off-site campus in Tupelo. The RN to BSN option is located on the Tupelo campus. This position is responsible for oversight of the RN to BSN classroom and clinical instruction and RN to BSN faculty and staff.  Additional expectations include academic advising and community service.
