Welcome to the MUW Financial Aid Center

At MUW we believe that the cost of a college education should not be a deterrent to your pursuit of earning a college degree. One of the Financial Aid Center's goals is to provide quality service and financial assistance to all our eligible students – new entering freshmen, transfer, continuing and graduate students.

IMPORTANT! New Federal Regulations!

Student Loan Changes for 2012-13
On July 1, 2012 the student loan interest rate returns to 6.8% on Direct Subsidized loans unless Congress passes legislation that would keep those rates below 6.8%.

In addition, more recent legislation, The Budget Control Act of 2011, made other significant student loan changes that are scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2012. These changes affect the federal "interest subsidy" for new loans made after July 1. For Graduate students, for new loans, no "subsidized" loans are available after July 1, 2012. Graduate students can only borrow "unsubsidized" loans with interest accruing while they are enrolled. Undergraduates with "new" loans will cease to have interest subsidies on their Direct Subsidized loans after they graduate.

The MUW Financial Aid Office will continue to monitor Congressional activity and will implement the necessary changes. Our award processes will be set up using current legislation with the anticipated changes in the interest rate and the loss of interest subsidies for Graduate students. We can always revise graduate awards later if Congressional action permits.

Eligible Coursework and Repeat Coursework

Repeated coursework and coursework not required for a student's program of study will impact a student's aid award. Students may not receive financial aid for coursework that is not required for their major and/or not among approved electives for their current program of study. If a student is taking coursework not required for his/her program of study, the student's enrollment status will be adjusted for financial aid purposes. In addition, repeated coursework where a passing grade has been previously received is, in most cases, ineligible for aid. The student will be ineligible for aid for the repeated coursework and the student's enrollment status will be adjusted for aid purposes.
