Our Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education (BFA) prepares students to excel as future educators. Our students are trained extensively in studio courses, in a wide range of disciplines, as well as in education and psychology courses. In their education component, the majors spend a number of observation hours in the classroom before embarking on their supervised student teaching. Upon completion of their requirements, art education majors are licensed to teach K-12 grades. Besides accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), our BFA in art education is also approved by the Mississippi State Department of Education and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
