Areas of Interest

21ST CENTURY LEARNING:·21st Century Learning Systems will 1) provide extensive training to educators in how to incorporate the 21st century skills into the classroom, 2) develop and pilot a student engagement model for 21st century learning, and 3) increase the involvement of parents in developing 21st century skills at home and at school.

CHAMPS:·The goal of the CHAMPS Project is to improve teacher quality in 17·high needs districts located in Northeast Mississippi by providing a comprehensive program of professional development.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:·Community Partnerships for Learning connects community stakeholders in order to foster collaboration, share strengths, identify needs, and build effectiveness.

LIFE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM:·The Life Enrichment Program offers intellectually stimulating non-credit courses for adults in the greater Columbus area who share a love of learning and/or teaching.· Courses cover a wide range of subjects and are designed to meet the physical, intellectual, and social needs of the participants.

LOWNDES YOUNG LEADERS:·Lowndes Young Leaders is a ten month leadership program for high school sophomores that live in and attend a high school in Lowndes County.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING:·The Office of Professional Learning offers growth opportunities for professionals such as continuing education units and professional certificate programs.
