Illustration
Illustration and watercolor are part of the curriculum of the Graphic Design and Drawing & Painting emphases in the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art (BFA).
Storytelling through imagery challenges the students to develop personal symbols and techniques in the response to assignments. Students are introduced to a variety of traditional and computer aided illustration methods, including scratchboard, graphite pencil and india ink. The development of craft and professional presentation is emphasized. Historical and contemporary illustrators are reviewed to enhance and challenge the students to make authentic, relevant and compelling images.
