Mississippi University for Women will officially move away from its Webmail email platform to its new, Google-based, Myapps platform on January 21.
Larry Jones, MUW Director of Information Technology Systems, says “with Myapps, students will gain the benefits of a robust and innovative feature set, including lots of email storage (25 GB), calendaring with sharing, integrated chat, file storage and sharing, real-time collaboration, and easy-to-build team websites.”
Jones says the switch will also lower infrastructure and support costs for the University.
Student Webmail accounts will be disabled on January 21. When accounts are disabled, students will not be able to login to their account but, mail will still forward to the new Myapps account if the student activates the forward.
Since email is considered an official means of communication at MUW, we’ll be moving the student Myapps email into the following systems:
