Guidelines for Accommodating Students with Disabilities
Refer students who self disclose a disability and request accommodations to
the Center for Academic Excellence prior to providing accommodationsMeet with students who present an accommodations plan to discuss which
accommodations will be necessary in their class and how the accommodations
can best be providedCooperate with Center for Academic Excellence in providing the approved
accommodationsProfessors are not expected to provide accommodations without an
accommodations plan, provide accommodations not on the plan, or offer
make up work for the time prior to the accommodations planInclude a statement about self identification in class syllabi which refers students
who disclose disabilities to Center for Academic ExcellenceParticipate in developing accommodations plans for their advisees when
appropriateKeep confidential all information concerning a students disability
