After more than seven outstanding years of service, Dr. Limbert announced today that she plans to retire at the end of June 2010, when her current contract ends. Mississippi University for Women is now the home of a major collection of works by alumna Eudora Welty. The collection, which contains about 270 separate items including correspondence, books, periodicals, recordings and photographs, was made possible through Andy Murray Coffey and his wife Katherine and son Glenn H. Coffey, all who reside in Lafayette, La. Read the full story

Dr. Kim Whitehead, professor of English and religious studies at Mississippi University for Women, has been named the 2009 Humanities Teacher of the Year by the Mississippi Humanities Council. The award is given each year to a faculty member from each Mississippi institution of higher learning. Read the full story
